Endlich ist es soweit. Das Warten von _allen_ Excision-Fans hat ein Ende: Er hat die 2013er Ausgabe seiner legen- wait a moment -dären Mix-Reihe veröffentlicht. Der Godfather of Bass, wie ich Excision gerne nenne, hatte mich schon beim Intro. Das besteht aus einm kurzen Basstest und einem Mashup einiger seiner Vocal-Samples, die er in seinen Tracks verwendet hat. Gänsehaut pur.
Weiter geht’s nach dem Intro mit einer bunten Mischung aus so ziemlich allen coolen EDM Genres. Manchmal könnte man meinen er möchte nicht 2 Lieder mit dem gleichen Genre hinterinander spielen. So kommt es vor, dass von Dubstep zu Drum and Bass und danach direkt weiter zu Trap gewechselt wird. Wie man das aber von Excision gewohnt ist, haut jeder Übergang wunderbar hin.
Wie Titel Nr. 52 es schön betitelt: „JUST MAKE THE CROWD GO: DÜDÜDÜDÜDÜDÜÜDÜDÜ“ (Megalodon – Boom ist ein MONSTER!). Das Set dürfte die Crowd auf dem diesjährigen Shambhala ordentlich durchgeschüttelt haben. Der Shambhala Mix 2013 knüpft super an die letzten Mixtapes an.
